2017 – Ringing in the New Year!

PrintWith the advent of a new year, sensibilities rise to the forefront of our mind. Perhaps more than a birthday, the new year sings its own reverie to get our ducks in a row, to begin again to tow the mark, bids us to turn the page and start anew. Yes, the new year taunts us to envision the horizon and see the future by improving our focus. The festivities are over – winter is settling in and she proves to be a preponderance of resolution our inner being innately underscores in its need for reparation toward the achievement of our newest creative seeds and their triumphant emergence in the springtime for summer’s consumption and fall’s exuberance.

As a fledgling entrepreneur / small business connoisseur, having experienced equally great successes and failures, it is time to embrace the season and refresh business acumen, ideologies and direction. It is time to take successes into the future, and to comprehend lessons-learned from entrepreneurial failures of the past, in order to benefit clients, customers, readers and authors universally in our future.

In order to enact benefits, change is required. So, throughout the month of January 2017, change is the plan of the hour. And, will be introduced as the month progresses to enrich government and commercial clients and customers, as well as literary and non-fiction readers and authors.

Both dpInk Company Ltd. and DonnaInk Publications, L.L.C. wish each of you happiness, prosperity, and health throughout 2017!

Is Count Dracula’s Castle really for sale?

Dracula's CastleIs Dracula’s Castle for Sale?

No, not hardly!  There is an article circulating on social media that claims Dracula’s Castle is for sale.  I thought I would alert my fellow Vampire enthusiasts before we all rushed to the nearest bank to obtain a loan for the purchase!

The article, which can be found on opposingviews.com, is misleading to those who are not well versed in Vampire history.  Those of us with a keen eye will call bullshit after having read the opening header of the article which says: Bran Castle, the inspiration for Dracula’s castle in Bram Stoker’s 1987 classic horror story, is for sale!  For starters, Bram Stoker’s well known novel was published in 1897.  The original movie, Bram Stoker’s Dracula was released in 1973 and, of course, the remake was released in 1992.

The Bran Castle

Bran Castle has long been referred to as “Dracula’s Castle” and the inspiration behind Bram Stokers’ Dracula.  The fact of the matter is though, Vlad the Impaler never lived in Bran Castle.

Vlad was allied with Bran and Brasov during his first reign (1436 – 1442) and through the start of his next reign, after the Princes of Transylvania requested that he handle the anti-Ottoman resistance at the border. During his second reign (1456 – 1462), however, his army passed through Bran in early 1459 to attack Brasov, in order to settle a conflict between the Wallachia Voivode and the Saxons, who requested higher customs taxes and supported his opponent for the throne. Vlad the Impaler burned the city’s suburbs and murdered hundreds of Saxons from Transylvania, provoking the Saxon community to seek revenge by later mentioning in reports that the Voivode were a tyrant and extremely ruthless.

It is possible that Vlad did visit the Castle but as far as Bran being his place of residence, not likely.

The Real Dracula Castle

So now that I’ve crushed some of you with the facts behind Bran Castle, let me once again, renew your enthusiasm for all things vampire!
Castle Poenari There are other castles that are more closely associated with Vlad Tepes.  For starters, Castle Poenari, was constructed by the rulers of Wallachia in the early 13th century.  Ownership changed hands several times but eventually the castle was abandoned.  Later, in the 15th century Vlad the Impaler would take over the property both to restore and fortify as his main fortress.

Corvin CastleThe Corvin Castle (aka the Hunyadi Castle, Hunedora Castle) is also associated with Vlad the Impaler.  It is rumored to have housed him, at least in the sense of the word!  The legend titles the Hunedora Castle as the true inspiration for Bram Stoker’s novel as it is said that Vlad was held prisoner here by John Hunyadi.  Hunyadi, for seven years after he was deposed.

Casa VladDraculCasa Vlad Dracul (aka Paulinus House) was the birthplace of Vlad Tepes.  History states that the home was occupied by Vlad II between the years of 1431-1435.  Our Vlad Tepes would have been, at the oldest, 4 in 1435, not yet having earned the title “Tepes!”

The home still stands to this day but has taken on a slightly different persona.  Castle Vlad Dracul has been converted into a restaurant with a medieval  atmosphere, maybe not so different than the daily lives of some of the past inhabitants.

Palace in TirgovisteAlso, in the town of Tirgoviste, a palace lies in ruins but can still be seen on the side of a main street in town.  Vlad would reside within this palace from 1448 – 1462.  Having become Voivode of Wallachia (though briefly) in 1448, it was Tirgoviste that would see Vlad at his peak of ruthlessness.

Vlad’s reining years between 1456-1462 were host to the most brutal of his acts.

So there skeptics! Though Bran Castle has not lived up to its legend, there are many others to take its place!

Vampire Legend and Lore in a Modern Sanguianrian Reality

The Adrian Trilogy,” by Lyn Gibson is a three-part fictional account of the vampire legend experienced through the life of a modern-day warrioress ~ once real estate practitioner, Adrian. Her long-standing lucid dreams continuously elicit an epic figure in the form of Christian who is an eight-pack wielding hunk of manhood with a taste for blood and all-things Sanguianrian. Christian works to keep Adrian untainted by his malady but love and lust turn the tide of time to their both being immortals. Of course, their communications are full of passion and play before and after Adrian gets bit.

As a reader though, you might ask . . . what is Sanguinarism?

sanguinarian-vampire-awakening-i4That is a great question.

Sanguinarians are human beings with a compulsion, or need, to consume blood. While in “To Be His Soulmate,” the narrative explains that due to his loss of his true love, Christian is destined to a life of damnation as a vampire. The story also shares that the act of consumption of blood is not distasteful to the Sanguinarian. In fact, it is definitely a need to ensure immortality and once again gain access to his formerly lost love . . . Adrian.

In today’s world, there are entire communities of Sanguinarians that really exist! These people believe they have debilitating issues “if” they don’t have a regular blood intake. And, many claim they are, in fact, the “true vampires.”

So what happens to them physiologically if they don’t consume blood?
stat6There is a theory that there is a genetic basis for the condition of Sanguinarianism. And, symptoms involve autoimmune deficiencies, emotional distress, fatigue, headaches, frequent illness, muscle and joint pain, rage, and other issues that are not defined by any “other” disease. The interesting element is that these individuals have instant relief by drinking blood. Some Sanguinarians report that they suffered for years with symptoms that baffled modern medicine and with a blood-consumption – they experience almost instant relief.

Is there actually a beast inside the Sanguinarian ready to explode onto the scene at clubs and bars throughout the world?

The individuals who suffer from what they describe as an “undisclosed disease” state that their awakening process may involve blood rages, which they refer to as Twoffing being overwhelmed by blood deprivation), yet . . . they also have curative blood provisions and very scientific underpinnings to their consumption of blood through regulated resources. In other words, they have medical blood treatments.

What about supernatural powers?

There are “some” Sanguinarians who suggest they do have enhanced mental and physical capabilities after feeding. And, they do state photo-sensitivity is one of many ailments they suffer. Some do practice Wicca, spell-casting, old religions, etc.; however, most Sanguinarians state they are human like everyone else and just have a debilitating issue that requires blood for a cure.

Certainly, there is such a strong interest in vampires for many reasons – including the romance, sexuality and normally sensual nature of them in films in movies and books like, “The Adrian Trilogy.” This series certainly gets our blood boiling and entices readers to want more, which Lyn Gibson is very good at providing. So on behalf of Author Lyn Gibson, dpInk: DonnaInk Publications, L.L.C. is beginning this new series of posts regarding Vampire Legend and Lore in a Modern Sanguianrian Reality.

19771a0ffa27bd58da369f73eb29f103The Sanguinarians are the “first” group we are mentioning but there are others:

  • Energy Channelers,
  • Fairths,
  • Furries,
  • Hybrid Vampires,
  • Metahumans,
  • Otherkin,
  • PSI-Vamps,
  • True Vampires,
  • and etc.

Yes, there is more to the field of vampirism than fictional narratives . . . it appears some real creatures of the night knock at the door of our understanding. The publishing initiative hopes this series of short blog stories – presented bi-weekly – alongside Lyn’s normal posts will keep readers pinned to the edge of their seats as we learn more about vampires who claim to be the real deal!
