2017 – Ringing in the New Year!

PrintWith the advent of a new year, sensibilities rise to the forefront of our mind. Perhaps more than a birthday, the new year sings its own reverie to get our ducks in a row, to begin again to tow the mark, bids us to turn the page and start anew. Yes, the new year taunts us to envision the horizon and see the future by improving our focus. The festivities are over – winter is settling in and she proves to be a preponderance of resolution our inner being innately underscores in its need for reparation toward the achievement of our newest creative seeds and their triumphant emergence in the springtime for summer’s consumption and fall’s exuberance.

As a fledgling entrepreneur / small business connoisseur, having experienced equally great successes and failures, it is time to embrace the season and refresh business acumen, ideologies and direction. It is time to take successes into the future, and to comprehend lessons-learned from entrepreneurial failures of the past, in order to benefit clients, customers, readers and authors universally in our future.

In order to enact benefits, change is required. So, throughout the month of January 2017, change is the plan of the hour. And, will be introduced as the month progresses to enrich government and commercial clients and customers, as well as literary and non-fiction readers and authors.

Both dpInk Company Ltd. and DonnaInk Publications, L.L.C. wish each of you happiness, prosperity, and health throughout 2017!

Adrian is a busy young business woman in the deep south, a few short miles north of Lake Ponchartrain which also borders the city of New Orleans.  Having been raised in one of the most revered locations for vampire legend and other paranormal folklore, she is very aware of the unseen.  You see, Adrian was born gifted, or so it’s said.  She, on the other hand, feels as though she has carried a curse with her since birth when the veil was removed from her face.  As a child she had dreams and visions, many that foretold of things to come, one in particular that would haunt her relentlessly.  Though the locals widely acknowledge that the “gift” is authentic, she found at this young age that there were those who viewed the gifted ones as evil and would shun her away, those were to include her own family.  Adrian would share the things that she saw with her family only to be scolded, such things were not Godly and should not be discussed, they would tell her.

As she matured she would learn to push the gift as far back into the darkest corners of her mind that she could manage, allowing for her to better focus on a career.  Though she could turn off her uncanny ability at will, she could not stop the dreams, more specifically the same one that had plagued her since childhood.

In this dream there was a young couple that sat by a mountain stream, though she could not see their faces she was certain that it was always the same two.  The couple would speak to each other, but she could not hear, though she was able to experience the sensation of new love in the beginning of the dream, it would not last.  Each time the dream evolved from an overwhelming feeling of happiness to a gut wrenching sense of doom.  The scenery would turn dark and foreboding becoming chaotic as it pulsed before her eyes and then ended, leaving her with an intense feeling of loss.

Now, since Adrian is an adult, the dream haunts her more and more frequently.  Her imprisoned “gift” begins to pound away, a warning of something approaching within the near future.  As fate would have it, and it always does!  Adrian runs into the man from her dreams.  They stand face to face, both overcome by the same sense of knowing.  He stands staring into her soul as her restraint of the gift collapses.

Just wait until I post this part of the book as a teaser!

Vampires in Ancient Egypt

Vampires were highly respected in the Ancient Egyptian society, many of them having become rulers. The ancient vampire having a pure blood line, were a fierce and powerful breed and were regarded as Gods in these times.

Visit my publisher, DonnaInk Publications, L.L.C. for your copies of "The Adrian Trilogy," Vols. I and II today!

Thank you to my readers for continuing to support the WordPress blog! We are growing daily.

One of the most revered vampires from this era was Osiris. He and his brother Set, born unto vampire, were abandoned by their parents. Set and Osiris were raised by a family that practiced the dark arts. The surrogate parents and their daughters, Isis and Nephtus, trained the two brothers well in the arts. Osiris would become king and marry Isis. He would use his knowledge of the arts and his power as a Vampire to teach his people how to work the land. Egypt was on it’s way to becoming the legendary metropolis that it was it that time. As Egypt continued to grow in wealth and population Set became jealous of Osiris and his stature throughout the land. Set continued to nurse his rage and began to feed on humans, building an army of minions to help him overthrow Osiris so that he may take the throne. When the time came, Set and his children murdered Osiris, immediately promoting himself as Pharaoh.

Horus, the son of Isis and Osiris was associated with a powerful sorcerer known at that time as Ra. Enraged by the actions of his uncle, Horus went to the sorcerer and had him place a curse on Set and his children; They would never walk in the daylight again lest they be destroyed. In the meanwhile, Isis in her grief, had been vigilantly searching for a way to bring Osiris back from the dead. Having turned to the book of the dead, she found success and retrieved Osiris from the netherworld but could not break the ties as he was now forever bound to the world of the dead. Legend states that this is when Osiris earned the title “Lord of the Underworld” later to be known as Hades.

Osiris or Hades, having ties to the underworld would allow for his bloodline to have access to knowledge and abilities that were unobtainable by humans. It is suggested that this is when the inherited traits of psychic and telekinetic abilities were obtained throughout the Vampire race.

The New Orleans Advocate interviews Lyn Gibson, a DonnaInk Publications, L.L.C. author

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Gibson said her ability to connect with the supernatural world caused tension within her religious family, and after working with the police on unsolved cases for a few years, Gibson, who is originally from Pearl River, Miss., took up writing . . .

The New Orleans Advocate interviewed Author Lyn Gibson (http://theadvocate.com/news/livingston/7945077-123/author-sinks-fangs-into-vampire) who lives in Independence Louisiana has been busy promoting her book. She is also a national radio personality and a historian of vampire legend and lore. Following the launch of her new book, Gibson has written on several blogs, interviewed on several talk radio programs and attended the annual “Spooky Empire” horror convention in Orlando, Florida courtesy of her publishing house. She was recently a guest at Mariner’s Inn in Hammond for her official book launch party.

The series, Gibson said, is based in the north shore area of Lake Pontchartrain, and many well-known landmarks are mentioned throughout the books.

Gibson gives some of the credit for the book’s success to her publisher, D.L. Quesinberry, CEO, president and founder of DonnaInk Publications, who she said has been wonderful to work with.

“Ms. Quesinberry believes in me and my series,” Gibson said. “It’s not easy, as a basically unknown writer, to be able to get a publishing contract, but Ms. Quesinberry saw promise in my title and has taken me under her wing.”

Check out the many reviews:

Kim says: “I was unable to put it down. Was very addicting. It was a new take on southern vampires. Can’t wait for the next one.”

Tkenyon said:  “This book is so beautifully written that it draws you into their time and space. I couldn’t put it down. It has intrigue, passion, drama and a unique perspective on the paranormal world of the vampire in our everyday lives . It is definately an adults only book . I can’t wait for the sequel! Don’t miss out on this one!”

Deseret Hatcher raves:   “Lyn Gibson gives it to us with no holds barred in this sensual and did I say sensual erotic vampire tale. The Adrian Trilogy is destined for success. The characters are modern and believable – they use cell phones and iPads, they travel by jet and they have a true lust for flesh.”

Wanda H. had this to say:  “It was nice to get away from the real world and get away to something intriguing and sexy. I would think about it even after I had put it down. The TV and movie series are all watered down and made for teens. I liked To Be His Soulmate better than some of Anne Rice’s books.”

Susie Cambe was quoted as saying: “Lyn Gibson is a mesmerizing writer. As a writer, she successfully takes you where she wants you to journey deep within a dark world, living in the shadows of the moss-strewn Deep South. Her characters develop a strong relationship with the reader and continue from book to book in her trilogy. Gibson’s books are captivating to readers passionate about the horror genre, as well as college students and anyone brave enough to turn the pages of her books.”
